Infra Red Treatment

Infra Red non surgical hair loss solution

Infra red therapy offers a non-surgical approach to hair loss as well as stimulating the scalp to encourage regrowth.

 What is Infra Red Treatment?

Infra Red light is a form of Electrotherapy and excellent for treating adverse hair and scalp conditions.  It causes dilation of blood vessels on the scalp area being treated and this encourages cell renewal, promotes healing and stimulates hair growth.

Benefits of Infra Red Light Treatment

Infra red light additionally promotes tissue repair and regeneration and infra red light can indeed stimulate hair growth in men and women with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness) and various other alopecias.

Especially when combined with topical or oral medicines, such as 5%Minoxidil or Finesteride.

What happens during treatment?

Infra red therapy offers a non-surgical approach to the issue of hair loss, using light rays to target the problem areas of the scalp by stimulating the follicles there.

This produces new hair growth by increasing blood circulation at the base of the hair follicle and increasing the metabolic activity within the scalp which in turn, promotes hair growth as the increased blood flow will transport higher levels of oxygen and nutrients to the follicles to initiate hair growth.

The treatment lasts for seven minutes in total.

Is it safe?

Infra red light waves are safe, non-invasive and an excellent choice of Electrotherapy for treating the scalp.

While red light rays are proven safe and side-effect free, laser therapy should not be used if you are taking photosensitizing medication.

How long do the effects last?

Infra Red Light Treatments are given in 10 minute doses for a minimum of six sessions. At least two sessions are recommended and at this point there is generally some regrowth/volumising seen. This treatment is part of a group of light therapies given simultaneously in conjunction with topical treatments which then maximise results. The duration of the treatment would be no longer than nine months, in the event that no significant improvement was made.

Once the hair has regrown and the cause has been identified as not of androgenetic origin, then the expectation would be that the hair will resume its growth cycle once more in the affected areas.
