 What is High Frequency Treatment?

High Frequency treatment is beneficial for both men and women suffering from a range of hair loss problems.  High frequency treatment is essentially a vasodilator, it increases the blood supply to the hair follicles whilst being treated. It works by stimulating blood flow to the hair follicles, thus drawing vital nutrients to the hair bulb encouraging healthier and stronger growth of individual hairs.

High Frequency (HF) Treatments create a neutral pH value in the scalp leading to improved secretions.


Both metabolisation of the scalp and blood circulation in the scalp region is improved through electrotherapy causing a soothing effect, both physically and mentally.  HF promotes the growth of healthy hair, minimising hair loss and it effectively supplies nutrients to the hair bulbs.

What happens during treatment?

Here at TrichoSynergy we use a High Frequency Treatment Machine for our patients with thinning hair conditions.


One of the four tools are passed over the scalp whilst the light waves penetrate the scalp stimulating blood flow.  The  treatment process lasts for 5mins and would be a minimum of 6-8 sessions and is generally used as a part of a complete electrotherapy treatment which combines UV and Infra Red light treatments.

Is high frequency treatment safe?

A professional Trichologist has the knowledge and experience to operate the treatment machines ensuring they are safe for all kinds of patients. There are certain medical conditions that will make this treatment unsuitable. Please note that the Trichologist must have the patient's medical history.

Not suitable during pregnancy or for hypertensive patients for example. Your initial consultation will determine your suitability for any recommended treatments.
